Christmas Day actually started here on Christmas Eve. In Order to play the Reindeer Games on Christmas Day, we had to have our toes Painted Red & Green.
Christmas Day started with a Christmas Brunch with everyone wearing their Christmas jammies.
Then on to the Reindeer Games. First was to pass a huge ball around the circle, ripping off saran wrap until you found a prize. Then decorate a team member to look like a reindeer. And the 3rd game was to use shaving cream and make the best looking Santa. And finally filling a cup with cereal while only using your feet. My team did not win any of the games.
Then pictures of the Christmas Party in our Living Room (Officially the Morning Light Lounge). Our Cruise Director, our Resident Teenage Elf Sisters, and of course Santa Claus.
The next day I took a tour of Guayaquil. Ecuador. My legs sure were tired after walking, according to my step counter almost 3000 steps.
These are paper machete dolls that are burned in the streets of Equador on New Years Eve. A tradition of getting rid of all the bad things in the past year.
We are now sailing off to Peru. Many people have left the ship to travel inland to Machu Pichu. My sister, Kay, and I went there several years ago so I am enjoying the quiet Sea Day here at home. However, we did have a guest lecturer this afternoon who gave a talk on whales. She is an adult daughter of one of our residents and working on her PhD in Marine Sciences. Before she ended her presentation, the Captain announced we had a huge pod of dolphins off to our port and we even saw a whale too. A great day to be on the ocean.
Everyone have a great New Years.
Also forgot to tell you: we are headed to Guatemala, to spend the remaining winter months in it’s beautiful jungle, on Jabiroo
I am very much enjoying your sharing!
Please don’t stop
Looks like you had a fun filled Christmas.
Happy Interim, Diane. I just made that up for the week between Christmas & New Year’s Day, when calories don’t count, To Do Lists are prohibited, & one gets extra credit for napping!
We have followed those orders, doing a little puttering in the yard, & loving on our cats. Had a terrific dinner out this evening & have a new favorite spot for Mexican street food.
Looking forward to your Peru adventures!
